15 Explain why a student's decision to get a part-time job might have an opportunity cost.
Hint: KN: The alternative use of time is lost > APP: Student works instead of revising for exams > AN: The opportunity cost is potentially lower grades.
Sample Answer- 3 Marker
[KN] The time lost due to the job would be the opportunity cost.
[APP] For e.g. The student can consume this time in further studies.
[AN] This would put further pressure on him to cover his/her syllabus in limited time available. (1) Also, during the exams since he/she have not practiced well, this would lead towards limited understanding of the topics, (2) increasing chances of errors (3) while attempting exams.

[KN] A student’s decision to get a part-time job has an opportunity cost because the alternative use of time is lost.
[AAP]For instance, if the student spends evenings working instead of revising for exams, they give up valuable study time.
[AN]This shows reduced preparation, lower academic focus, and less rest time.As a result, the opportunity cost could be achieving lower grades in exams.

KN: Opportunity cost is the next best alternative given up when making a choice.
AP: For example, if a student takes a part-time job, they give up study time or leisure.
AN: This means they cannot do both at the same level.
AN+: As a result, they might achieve lower grades, feel more stressed, and miss out on relaxation.

KN]students time is occupied
app] A student's time is a scarce resource. By choosing to spend this time working for income, they are giving up the time they could have spent on another activity, e.g, he couldve studied instead
AN]this will lead to a bad result of the student

[kn] it may as a student may have to compromise on his study hours [app] as the student may work a 9-5 which may compromise his study hours as he would be too exhausted after his shift [an] this opportunity cost may lead to the student getting bad grades not completing assignments and falling back in class

Re: 15 Explain why a student's decision to get a part-time job might have an opportunity cost.
KN: A students decision to get a part time job may have an opportunity cost as the student might be compromising in his rest time.
APP: For Example if a student opts for a part time job and sideways manages his studies without compromising on his study hours the student might not find time for rest which might result in laziness during study and work hours.
AN: Hence, by not finding time for rest the student's health will be destroyed and will result in him falling sick and as a result his health will bear the opportunity cost for keeping up his study and work hours. And as a result he will not be able to fully perform his study and work.

Re: 15 Explain why a student's decision to get a part-time job might have an opportunity cost.
[KN]A student taking a part-time job will have less time available for studying and completing schoolwork.
[APP]For example, if the student works several evenings a week, this reduces the number of hours they can spend revising. This could mean weaker preparation for exams, as less focus is given to difficult subjects. It may also force the student to give up leisure activities, such as sports or socialising, in order to manage both work and studies.
[AN]This reduction in study time may result in lower grades, limiting future opportunities such as getting into a top university. It could also affect career prospects if employers require higher qualifications.

Re: 15 Explain why a student's decision to get a part-time job might have an opportunity cost.
[KN] Opportunity cost is what you give up when you choose one option over another. For a student, getting a part-time job means giving up something else.
[APP] For example, if a student works after school, they may have less time to revise for exams or relax with friends.
[AN] This shows the opportunity cost of the job could be lower grades or less free time, which may affect their studies or wellbeing.

(KN) Opportunity cost in this sence would the be time that he used to work could have been used for studies
(APP) student has to worker after school in a small dinner
(AN) they time he spent there could have been used to study, improve his performance, leading to better grades whch would eventually increase his chances for getting into a good university.

{KN}a students decision to get a part time job has an opportunity coost as that time may give up his other caricular activities.
{APP}if a student does a parttime job in eveining after college his study time may get effected which would lead to failing in exams
{AN}This shows that doing a part time job can lead to loss of study and destruction of future ahead

[KN] If the student works the opporunity cost would be the time he gave up to study for an exam.
[APP] The student will work right after school and wont do his work or revise for the exam, that would lead to his downfall in studies resulting in bad grades.
[AN] This will lead to his future being affected as due to low education he wont be able to get much higher and well know jobs.

[KN] A student’s decision to take a part-time job involves an opportunity cost because they give up the chance to use that time for something else
[APP] If a student chooses part time job they might have given up their studying time or their free time in which they enjoy e.g. gaming
[AN+] Thus this could lead to the student not prepared for the exam causing them to achieve less grades in the exam
