[KN] Internal is done from within the business whereas external is done by following advertisement & selection process.
[AN] IR fills the higher positions by choosing a deserving one from within the business, however ER includes involvement of third party to be filled within that position.
[AN+] IR usually boosts employee engagement and morale, whereas ER fosters introduction of new creative and innovative ideas.
[KN] Internal recruitment is done when job is strategic in nature, or an element of loyalty is more important than any other trait (R & D department).
[AN] Filling strategic roles with individuals who already possess a deep understanding of the organization's culture, is when IR is prioritized but on the other hand ER helps with strategic expertise etc.
[AN+] as a result both helps to increase market share and hence ensure business growth in a profitable manner.
