02 Outline one reason for the decline of primary sector employment in developed countries.
Hint: Mechanisation > Example: Combine harvesters on farms > Less need for farm labourers.
Hint: Shift to other sectors > Example: Growth of tourism in the UK > More, better-paid jobs available in hotels and restaurants.

[KN] One reason for the decline of primary sector employment in developed countries is mechanisation, which reduces the need for human labor.
[APP] For example, on farms, machines like combine harvesters can now do the work of many farm labourers in less time.
[AN] This leads to fewer job opportunities in the primary sector because business prefer machines, which are faster and more efficient. As a result, many workers move into other sectors where employment is more available. Over time, this makes the primary sector less significant as a source of jobs in developed economies.

(KN) countries might have run out of resources
(APP) overfishing in europe has lead to governement placing restriction
(AN) this has lead to people losing jobs, lowering consumer spending hence resulting in low living standards, worsening health of peopel

[KN]Many workers have shifted to secondary and tertiary sectors that offer better opportunities.
[APP]For instance in the UK the growth of tourism has created more better paid jobs in hotels and restaurants.
[AN]This means workers are attracted away from farming which causes a reduction in the agricultural workforce leading to a shortage of skills and labour in the primary sector and ultimately results in a long term decline in primary sector employment.

KN: One of the reason for decline in primary sector employment is mechanisation.
APP: For example farm in many developed countries use harvester and advance machinery which reduces the amount of workers needed for the farm.
AN: This means that business can cut labour costs, increase efficency, and earn more profits due to on time delivering, and reduced expenses. This also allows the labour to find jobs in secondary or tertiary sectors as job opportunities still exist in those sectors and allows the growth of the sectors as well.

[KN] The introduction of new, advanced machinery has contributed to the decline.
[APP] For instance, the use of harvesters and other automated equipment in agriculture has made the primary sector more efficient, leading businesses to replace human labor with machines.
[AN] This results in job losses within the primary sector, potentially leading to lower incomes, reduced living standards, and decreased job satisfaction among affected workers.

[Kn] Factors such as improved technology and better opportunity in other sectors led to the decline of primary sector
[APP]e.g. In mining industry modern machinery has replaced manual labour
[AN] Thus this reduces the need of large workforce in primary sector causing people to move to other sectors like tertiary and secondary where employment opportunities are increasing leading to a decline in primary sector.

(KN)There is a need for less labor in primary sector due to industrialization.
(APP)For instance, China before being developed was primarily a primary sector economy and mainly focused on agriculture, however now China is the biggest secondary sector economy in the world and so the skills of many people who worked in the primary sector are no longer needed, leading to unemployment.
(AN)This in turn will mean that many people will not be earning an income, leading a decrease the consumption (Aggregate Demand) in the economy and thus leading a decrease in GDP.

[KN]Due to a rise in automation.
[APP]For example; Farming which used to be done by farmers themselves is now done by machines like tractors harvestors etc.
[AN]This hence reduces the number of workers needed, leading towards an increase in efficiency and making it time saving because machines produce more output in less time leading towards steady cashflows and higher output.

[Kn] improved technology has led to the decline of primary sector
[APP]e.g. In mining industry modern machinery has replaced manual labour e.g. machinery like tractors are more used in agriculture then labors.
[AN] Thus this reduces the need of large workforce in primary sector causing people to move to other sectors like tertiary and secondary where employment opportunities are increasing leading to a decline in primary sector.

[kn] this may be due to the rise of automation in the country [app] for example jobs such as logging workers have lost there jobs due to the introduction of machines such as chainsaws and automated sawmill [an] This reduces the need for workers, lowers costs for businesses, and shifts employment towards the secondary and tertiary sectors.

KN= Many workers in developed countries have shifted to secondary and tertiary sectors because these provide better pay and career opportunities.
APP= For example, in the UK the expansion of the tourism industry has created high-paying jobs in hotels and restaurants.
AN= As a result, workers are moved away from farming and other primary activities, leading to a fall in the primary workforce. This creates a shortage of skills and labour in the primary sector and contributes to the long-term decline of employment in this sector

KN: Employment declined on the primary sector due to more income potential in the secondary sector.
APP: For instance, More people will be willing to leave their farms and work in factories to earn more.
AN: This will cause urbanisation as it will increase the purchasing power of the employees, which will improve their living standards, leading towards the economic growth, encouraging more people to move to secondary sector.

{KN}Government policy and regulation are stricter environmental laws can reduce activity performed by different industries.
{APP}For instance, in the UK, the government has introduced stricter regulations on coal mining and fossil fuel extraction because of concerns about carbon emissions and climate change.
{AN}These policies make it more expensive and difficult for firms to operate in the primary sector, since they may face higher compliance costs this leads to a decline in employment in the primary sector, as workers lose jobs when industries such as coal mining or traditional fishing become unprofitable under new environmental laws.
