[KN]It can be when a person has achieved esteem and self-actualization but has a sudden financial crisis and job loss.
[AN]Then the person's main target would be physiological needs which are food, shelter, and basic survival.
[AN+]As a result all of their focus reverts from their job to basic survival which in result affects the business.

KN: Needs of the employee changes when company goes through a merger
AN: RatIonalisation takes place after mergers to find the best employee to do a job
AN: Individuals needs shift from esteem needs to need for job security as employees are being let go

[KN]in case of merger or takeover the business will rationalize.
[AN]therefore a employee who might be targeting something else may revert to job security.
[AN+]The employee might have to work more harder which might increase his chances of promotion in future.

a individual can revert back when there is a economic crisis or the individual loses the jobs ,a individual who has reached security needs(finance),if the individual loses the job or faces a financial trouble,the induvidual will quickly be concerned about shelter and food(psychological need),and basic needs.as a result individual will look basic necessities required for survival rather than pursuing higher-level needs such as , esteem, or self-actualization
