[KN] Secondary sector businesses focus on manufacturing products by using raw material from primary sector whereas tertiary sector businesses provide services
[AN] Secondary sector requires capital and labour as its main FOPS however tertiary sector uses labour as its main FOP
[AN] therefore more capital is invested on providing training and skills in a tertiary sector as it is more labour intensive however, secondary sector invests more in better machinery to maximize output

[KN]Difference in supply chain
[AN]Secondary sector businesses often manufacture in large quantities and sell to retailers and wholesalers whereas services are directly provided to end consumer
[AN]thus secondary sector businesses donot earn the profit on market price as retailer and wholesalers add their cost to manufacturer's price as well.On the other hand, service sector businesses earn high profits based on market price

[KN]Secondary sector turns raw material into manufactured goods and tertiary sector provides services to the people
[AN]Machinery may be used in secondary industry whereas labour may be used in tertiary industry
[AN+]Machinery costs may be higher than labour/hiring costs

[KN]Manufacturing industry might not need skilled workers whereas tertiary industry does
[AN]This leads to more labour costs for the tertiary sector as compared to the secondary sector
[AN+]Thus it might not preferable for a business to be in the tertiary sector

[KN] Nature of the business.
[AN] Secondary sector business has the main task of manufacturing the raw materials while tertiary sector provides goods and services to the people.
[AN+] Services are monthly paid while manufacturing only gives profits when sold or demanded.

[KN] More production methods.
[AN] Tertiary sectors businesses are labour intensive but secondary sector are capital intensive.
[AN+] Labour are used for high amount of services and communication skills while the machinery is used for the high intensity of production.

Q2 Analyse the functional differences between businesses operating in secondary & tertiary sectors of business. [6]

[KN]tertiary sector relies on demand delivery while the secondary sector relies on constant improvements in efficiency and productivity
[AN]thus, tertiary sectors production process is more labor-intensive than secondary (capital-intensive)
[AN+]furthermore, wages are higher in the tertiary sector, increasing costs as labor/skilled labor may be more expensive/costly while the secondary has less financial burden of high costs, and wages to pay as they don't have that much skilled labor, rather machines robust from errors

[KN]interactions with customers/consumers
[AN]manufacturers, in the secondary sector, connect with customers mostly when selling products or delivering them, focusing on making good quality/quantity products, service businesses in the tertiary sector work hard to keep up with customer demands, meet specific requirements, encouraging more frequent customer feedback.
[AN+]thus, there is an increase customer feed back

(KN) the secondary sector converts raw materials into manufactured goods and tertiary sector provides services to the people
[AN] the secondary sector relies mainly on machinery and other technology to convert goods whereas the tertiary sector needs human labour
[AN+] this leads to the tertiary sector having more incomes and the secondary sector being the reason for more unemployment

[KN] the secondary sector doesnt require many "skilled" workers whereas in the tertiary sector skilled workers are much more preffereable
[AN] this increases hiring costs for tertiary firms are more skilled wokrers may be more expensive and secondary sector would find its labour for cheap amounts
[AN+] the secondary sector would rely on more progressive improvements whereas the tertiary sector relies more on adaptability to customer needs
