[KN] Employees are self-motivated and enjoy the challenge of work. [AN] Managers with this assumption have a more collaborative relationship with their workers. [AN+] This may motivate the employees in theory Y by allowing them to work on their own initiative, giving them responsibility, and encouraging them to make decisions. This in the long run may enhance effectiveness of the business in a competitive market.

def: McGregor considered that managers who hold Theory Y views believe that workers enjoy work. These managers think workers find work as natural as rest or play. They think workers are prepared to accept responsibility, be creative, and take an active part in contributing ideas and solutions to work-related problems.
