05 Explain the difference between job satisfaction and job security. [8]

[KN] The key difference is job satisfaction is an intrinsic motivator which comes from positive feelings about the job whereas job security is an extrinsic motivator coming from low risk of being made redundant.

[KN] Job satisfaction is a high-order need related to esteem & self-actualization whereas job security is a lower order need related to "Safety Needs" as per Maslow.

(KN) Job satisfaction is how happy the employee feels when doing the job.
(APP) For example, if employee A is satisfied and happy with their job, they have job satisfaction and it can be due to reasons such as recognition for their work , a good salary and a refreshing work environment.
(AN) This increase in job satisfaction proves to be very beneficial for the business as these motivators lead to a will to work harder, increasing productivity within the business, and fulfilling a greater number of customer demands over a shorter period of time.
(AN+) These increased efforts would be noticed by seniors, who would nominate employee A for a promotion, increasing job satisfaction and eventually earning them job security.
(KN) Job security, on the other hand, is when employees have a peace of mind about their job and they don’t need to worry about being fired.
(APP) For example, if an employee has great job security, it would give them a chance to work with their highest amount of efficiency without having to worry about losing their job, basically implying that people are able to be at their best when they are not under pressure.
(AN) Working at their best means the employee would be aiming for the self actualization level of Maslow’s Hierarchy, leading to the business benefitting from their highest level of dedication, helping the business achieve many short term objectives and eventually becoming one of their greatest employees.
(AN+) This would further motivate the employee as they would now be included in decision making by seniors, be handed tasks with greater responsibility and after carrying them out, they would be appreciated even more.

KN:job satisfaction comes from the positive feelings an employee has about doing their job while job security comes from the assurance that the employee will not lose their job.
APP:forexample a teacher may feel job satisfaction when students perform well but job security when their contract is permanent.
AN:job satisfaction motivates through enjoyment and pride in the work itself whereas job security motivates through the stability and safety it provides.
AN+:therefore job satisfaction encourages employees to work better because they want to while job security makes them stay because they need to.

KN:according to Maslow’s hierarchy job satisfaction relates to higher order needs such as esteem and self actualization while job security relates to lower order safety needs.
APP:forinstance an engineer may feel satisfied after completing a successful project but secure when their job position is stable and long term.
AN:this shows that job satisfaction focuses on personal growth and fulfillment while job security focuses on protection from loss of income or unemployment.
AN+:as a result both are important but they fulfill different levels of human motivation one emotional and one practical.

KN: Job satisfaction depends on how much an employee enjoys their daily tasks while job security depends on how safe and permanent their job position is.
APP: For instance a graphic designer may enjoy creating new designs job satisfaction but might still fear losing their job during company downsizing job insecurity.
AN: This means a person can feel satisfied with their work yet still worry about future employment.
AN+: Therefore job satisfaction relates to the present experience of work while job security relates to the future certainty of keeping that work.

KN: When employees are satisfied with their jobs, they tend to work harder and perform better when they feel secure, they are more likely to stay with the business.
APP: For instance satisfied sales staff may actively try to exceed sales targets while secure employees may remain loyal to the company for many years.
AN: Job satisfaction directly boosts productivity whereas job security reduces staff turnover.
AN+: As a result both benefit the business differently one by improving efficiency and the other by ensuring stability in the workforce.

[KN] Job satisfaction is how much an employee likes his job.
[APP] For example a shop assistant who enjoys helping customers has high job satisfaction.
[AN] As a result motivation reduces which results in high absenteeism which reduces sales so less profit generated.
[AN+] So in the long run, this can make it harder for the business to keep skilled staff and compete with others.

[KN] Job security is the confidence of an employee that the job he has will continue.
[APP]For example if an employee works in a shop and it closes next week, he will have low job security.
[AN]Hence as a result motivation reduces which leads to high absenteeism which reduces sales so less profit generated
[AN+] And the person cannot work will full ability as he knows that he will eventually lose his job.

[KN]Job satisfaction refers to the level of happiness and satisfaction an employee feels with their work, while job security is about the confidence of keeping the job without the fear of being fired.
[APP]for instance an employee is happy with his job and feels comfortable with the ambiance and the behavior of their colleges and boss where as the an employee who gets job security will get more opportunities to work harder and with loyalty without the fear of being jobless or redundant.
[AN]this would lead to motivated employees as satisfying their needs and being valued as will not be accused or threaten to be fired as well as will not feel disheartened likewise being recognized in the business.
[AN+]thus this would make them happy and improving their efficiency which will improve their productivity aswell as friendly and motivated ambiance.

[KN]job satisfaction depends on internal factors like interesting work, recognition, or good relationships at the work place, whereas job security depends on externals factors such as the business's stability and the employee's contract or performance.
[APP]for instance an factory worker working hard and getting his recognition and is satisfied but has the threat to be jobless anytime due to automation owner wants to bring in new machines.
[AN]this leads the employee to be unhappy as well as sacred of losing his job anytime and would now might reach to other business for getting a good job and even would not be regular as not motivated enough as not recognized enough.
[AN+]thus due to lack of motivation and employee looking for other jobs the competitors might take advantage of it and would employee your factory's skilled worker leading to better output of the competitor which a machine might not be able to do it at that extent lowering quality as well as sales likewise lower consumer base leading to lower profits.

KN: The key difference between the two is that with the presence of job satisfaction the productivity of the employee increases whole with the presence of job security the productivity has no effect.
App: For example, if a person is not satisfied with his job he might not be as productive during the day. While if a person does not have job security it will not have any effect on the production as the production will stay same even if the person has job security.
An: this means that if job satisfaction is provided to the employee it will result in him putting extra effort to fulfill his expectations. Moreover job security will allow the company to earn the loyalty of the company. With job satisfaction the absenteeism of the employee will reduce as he is well motivated to complete his job/ tasks.
AN+: As a result job satisfaction of employees allow the company to increase competitiveness as it can deliver projects on time and with higher quality due to cooperative work force

(KN)
Job satisfaction is when employees feel happy, motivated, and proud of the work they do because it gives them a sense of achievement and personal value.

(APP)
For example, an Apple product designer might feel satisfied when their creative ideas are used in a new iPhone design. This makes them feel that their talent is recognised and their effort truly matters to the company.

(AN)
Firstly, this increases motivation, as employees feel more excited to work and bring new ideas.
Secondly, it builds loyalty because when people enjoy their job, they are less likely to leave for another company.
Thirdly, it improves productivity because satisfied workers tend to focus more and produce higher-quality work.

(AN+)
As a result, Apple benefits from a motivated and creative workforce that keeps producing innovative products. This leads to better performance, lower labour turnover, and a stronger brand image all of which help the business remain successful in the long term
(KN)
Job security means when employees feel safe and confident that they will not lose their job. It is part of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs under the safety level, and it is also related to Herzberg’s hygiene factors, meaning it prevents dissatisfaction but doesn’t directly increase motivation.

(APP)
For example, workers at Apple may feel secure because the company is large, stable, and offers long-term contracts with steady income and benefits. This feeling of safety allows them to plan their future without fear of being laid off.

(AN)
Firstly, job security reduces stress and anxiety, allowing employees to focus fully on their work.
Secondly, it increases loyalty, as workers appreciate the company for providing stable employment.
Thirdly, it improves performance because employees are more confident, consistent, and committed when they are not worried about losing their job.

(AN+)
In the long run, job security helps Apple maintain a stable workforce, reducing recruitment costs and keeping experienced staff. While it may not always boost motivation like job satisfaction does, it creates a calm and steady environment where employees can perform at their best without fear or uncertainty.

[KN] Job satisfaction is the positive feelings an employee gets after doing their job, while job security comes from the assurance of not losing their job at any time.
[APP] For example, a car manufacturer may feel satisfied after the car they built drives off the factory without any issues, but also feels secured as they have signed a contract about their job.
[AN] This satisfaction motivates the worker to build more cars without the worry of errors, while job security motivates the worker as they feel secure about their jobs.
[AN+] This motivation helps increase productivity as highly motivated workers work more efficiently, decreasing the delivery times of the company, satisfying customers.

[KN] Job satisfaction depends on daily motivation and recognition, whereas job security depends on company stability and long-term employment contracts.
[APP] For instance, workers at Honda may feel secure because the company offers permanent contracts and consistent production demand.
[AN] This helps reduce employee turnover, as workers are confident their income is protected.
[AN+] Over time, this loyalty improves efficiency and reduces the costs of hiring and training new staff.

KN1: The key difference between job satisfaction and job security is that job satisfaction is an intrinsic motivator which comes from a positive feeling about the job where as the job security is an extrinsic motivator coming from the low risk of being made redundant.
APP: A doctor in a hospital will be satisfied with their job if they are being paid well and the over all work environment is clean and non_palitical./not diplomatic.
AN: due to this, they try to check as many patients as possible and two concentrate and work harder on their treatment due to which they become experts and efficient in their relative fields which increases their chances of promotion. Though the promotion their living standards may improve making them loyal to the form / hospital due to which the hospital will be able to retain its culture.
AN+: However, this may be different for a job security element as it may only postpit the doctor to work to the point when they don't get fired.
KN: Job satisfaction is a high ordered need related to the steam and self and dual location where as job security is lower order need related to "safety needs" as per Maslow.
APP: For instance, job satisfaction will be achieved when the doctors are offered higher posts in the hospital management whereas job security is when they are offered a five year or permanent contract.
AN: If this job security is not offered and the employees are often made redundant then the hospital will not be able to hire well qualified doctors which will negatively affect their brand image, leading towards a decrease in their customer base, and therefore, the revenue and profits decrease too.
AN+: However the chain of events is not the same as above if job satisfaction is not offered or taken of as the employees/doctors still have to earn a living.

[KN] Job satisfaction is when employee is happy and motivated in its existing job where as job security is long term job agreement.
[APP] For instance, an employee gets appreciated by manager due to his hard work which is demonstrating job satisfaction whereas a factory worker with a five year contract experiences job security, knowing their employment is stable for defined period.
[AN]Hence job satisfaction can lead to increased creativity resulting in higher quality of work and innovation.
Job security leads to less stress and allows employees to work for long term goals.
[AN+] Business that uses both job satisfaction and job security often experiences low labour turn over and motivated workforce giving them competitive advantage.
[KN] High job satisfaction usually comes from good pay whereas Strong job security often comes from long-term contracts.
[APP] For example, a software developer might feel highly satisfied with their work if they receive a competitive salary and opportunities for professional development, while they would feel secure if they have a permanent contract with the company.
[AN] This means that while good pay and development opportunities boost motivation and performance, long-term contracts reduce stress and encourage loyalty.
[AN+] Businesses that prioritize both job satisfaction and job security can create a thriving work environment, leading to increased retention, enhanced performance

[APP] such as a bakery worker enjoying decorating cakes while knowing their job is safe.
