Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
(KN) Redundancy is when employees lose their job because the position is no longer needed and is not the employee's fault whereas dismissal is when an employee is fired because of their behavior or performance.
(APP) For example, if a bakery decides to sell finished products rather than baking it themselves, they would have to make the baker "redundant", whereas if the baker was not baking the products efficiently, they would have to be "dismissed".
(AN) When employees are made redundant, the company may provide some compensation to them as they have no fault in being asked to leave which can act as a financial support for the basic necessities of the employees' family. When employees are dismissed, they are offered no financial support since they were dismissed for their own actions. Furthermore, if other companies find out that the employee has been dismissed, it may get difficult for the employee to find a new job.

Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
[KN] Redundancy is when a worker is removed from their job because the employer no longer needss that job to be done e.g. There is a new machinery Whereas Dismissal is when a worker is removed because of their poor performance. In short redundancy is caused by the businesses needs, while dismissal is caused by the employees actions.
Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
redundancy occurs when a job is no longer required and the employee becomes redundant through no fault of their own. This may happen for example if a whole business unit closes. Dismissal on the other hand is when an employee is removed from an organization due to their own fault such as disobeying the rules of the business making it related to their own misconduct of company policies

(KN)
Redundancy happens when someone loses their job because their role is no longer needed.
Dismissal happens when someone is asked to leave because of their behaviour or poor work.
(APP)
For example, at Samsung, redundancy could happen if a department closes and some workers are not needed anymore.
Dismissal could happen if a worker keeps breaking rules or does not do their job properly.
(AN)
Redundancy is not the worker’s fault and usually comes with some payment, which is fair and helps the business reduce costs while keeping its reputation positive.
Dismissal is because of the worker’s actions, which protects the company from bad performance and maintains the business’s professional image.
Both affect staff numbers, but redundancy is a business decision, and dismissal is due to the worker’s behaviour or work.

Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
[KN]Redundancy occurs when an employee loses their job because the role itself is no longer needed whereas dismissal is when an employee is removed from their job due to their behaviour or performance.
[APP]Examples for redundancy can include that a business has closed down a department whereas for dismissal poor performance can be an example.
[AN]When employees are made redundant, it usually reflects structural or economic changes in the business, such as falling demand or new technology reducing the need for labour. This can help the business cut costs and remain competitive, but it may also damage employee morale because remaining workers may worry that their own jobs are insecure whereas for dismissal Removing underperforming or irresponsible staff can improve overall productivity and maintain workplace standards, helping protect the business’s reputation.

Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
[KN] Redundancy is when a person loses his job because he is no longer needed to do that specific work while dismissal is when the employer ends a person's job because he /she breaks the company's rule.
[APP] For example if a shop closes a branch, so the cashier role is removed which will be considered as redundancy and if a worker is fired for repeated lateness or for breaking safety rules this will be considered as dismissal.
[AN] Redundancy often comes with notice and possible redundancy pay. Redundancy is about the job no longer being needed. Redundancy may include help like redeployment or support

Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
(K) Redundancy is where there is no place for worker so fired. Dismissal is that he is replaced-new one hired, because bad behaviour or not doing tasks or etc- but availability of work still there.(App)some public business-e.g army, some employees charged with serious offences on the frontlines so fired-dismissal. But if for e.g the war is over and no need to keep additional forces- these guys are made redundant.(An) reason for redundancy is no use of employees now-no work, would be burden, his pays-extra costs means company not functioning efficiently-not cutting costs-affects operations. Dismissal is as a disciplinary action- reason is to keep order amongst staff,punishments- not carried out means incentive for staff to misbehave which can cause problems like customers offended with misbehaving staff or stolen items or efficiency and performance issues due to required work not done at set deadlines etc.

Redundancy is when the employee is no longer needed to work
It may be due to dynamic changes
Dismissal is when an employee did something against the rules and regulation
It may be due to disrespecting the staff or not doing your job in a responsible manner

KN: Redundancy occurs when a worker loses their job because the job is no longer needed, while dismissal occurs when a worker is removed due to poor performance or misconduct.
APP: For example, if a factory closes a department, workers are made redundant, but if a worker is caught stealing, they are dismissed.
AN: Therefore, redundancy is not the worker’s fault, whereas dismissal is the worker’s fault.

Re: 08 Explain the difference between ‘redundancy’ and ‘dismissal’ [3]
KN: Redundancy is one of the legal reasons for dismissal
APP: Example at a supermarket there may no longer be a need for someone to manually sort the order of the shelves (done using a computer program) hence they may be dismissed. Whereas they could have also been dismissed because of other reasons like their conduct.
AN: Redundancy is usually unexpected (new technologies develop fast), and is not usually the employees own fault, hence also gives redundancy pay as compensation to the worker. Whereas dismissal may be building up over a longer period of time as well (multiple behavior complains) and it is usually the employees fault (e.g. conduct/not doing work on time/properly) therefore there is usually no compensation.

{KN}Redundancy happens when a job role is no longer needed, while dismissal occurs when an employee is removed because of their behavior or performance.
{APP}For example, a store may make staff redundant if it closes a branch, whereas an employee may be dismissed for repeatedly breaking company rules.
{AN}This difference matters because redundancy is about the job disappearing, often giving workers legal rights to compensation, while dismissal is due to the employee’s actions, which may not entitle them to the same protections.
